The Polwarth breed was established in Australia in the 1880s after the bloodlines of Merino and Lincoln sheep were mixed to a ratio of about 75% t0 25%, respectively. This yarn has all the softness of Merino, while the Lincoln makes it more robust and gives it a wonderful sheen, stunning stitch definition, and drape.
